Could the attacks on Libya lead to a bigger conflict (WWIII)?

Some people may think this is a stretch and that everyone seems to try and make things bigger and scarier than they appear. We don't necessarily disagree with that, but this is not our intention with this article. The truth is that many countries are already involved in the Libyan conflict going on right now, which started as a humanitarian mission to stop the senseless killing of the protesting, Libyan people. As far as we know, to date, this is still the case.

We posted on Twitter yesterday this tweet; "Tell us this isn't wht Nostradamus saw when e wrote the quatrains. Many nations attacking each other & themselves, tsunamis, erthqks, oil..". We also posted this at an early time; "Radiation, OilSpills, Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Wars, Peoples Rights and Freedoms. We are so F**ked.", these posts relate and kind of led us to our thinking more about Nostradamus and what we've read, in the past, about things he said. Shortly after these posts we noticed on the news sites how Russia was regretting the attacks on Libya and wanted the attacks to stop quickly. As the news kept coming we noticed China was also stating it's regret for the attacks being done and wanted them to stop as well, as soon as possible. Africa has also joined in on the opposition to the attacks by the UN on Libya. The thing is that if this doesn't end soon, how long until one or all of them start to trickle in to try and protect Libyan leaders and stop the attacks by the UN coalition and the United States. We began to think about Nostradamus a little more and what he predicted about WWIII.

First off, we'd like to admit that Nostradamus is vague and people can argue that you can make anything he said seem to apply to something. We agree that this can be argued all day back and forth, whatever. While this is partially true, the truth is also that he is revered because in at least some cases, you cannot deny his accuracy or at least how close he comes to hitting the nail on the head. With that said, this is some of what he says about WWIII and the players in that conflict.

    "[V.54] From beyond the Black Sea and great Tartary, there will be a king who will come to see
    France. He will pass through Alania and Armenia and leave his bloody rod in Byzantium"
   

  Interpretation:  
    "It appears that a certain leader, probably from Russia, Central Asia or China will come to conquer
    France. Is this the Man from the East in II.29 ? It seems that Russia and China will ally with the
    Islamic forces in World War III. In fact such a large scale attack on Europe is possible when the
    might of a country like China or Russia is behind the Eastern Alliance."



    [V.27] With fire and weapons, not far from the Black Sea, he will come from Persia to occupy
    Trebizond. Pharos and Mytilene tremble, the Sun is bright, the Adriatic sea covered with
   Arab blood.
   
   

Interpretation:

   A notable Iranian commander will come to fight in the Adriatic along with the Arabs. There will be
   losses in the eastern side too.


   [VI.80] From Fez the kingdom will stretch out to those of Europe. The city blazes, the sword
   will slash; the great man of Asia with a great troop of blue by land and sea, he will drive out
   the cross to death.


     

Interpretation:

   Finally the great army from Asia led by a great leader will defeat the Euro-American allied forces
   and occupy Europe. 


   [VI.21] When those of the Northern Pole are united together in the East will be great fear and
   dread. A new man elected, supported by the great one who trembles, both Rhodes and
   Byzantium will be stained with Arab blood.


     

Interpretation:

   Russia, who upto this point was either neutral or in the eastern alliance, probably after a change in
   its leadership, will somehow join US against the Eastern forces resulting in the weakening of the
   eastern position. A new commander of the joint allied forces (or a new President of USA) will take
   charge and the results will the the first defeat of the eastern forces in the Mediterranean and Turkey.
   This is probably the turning point of the war.

If you read, just the source we posted for the above statements, you will see that many of the players in his predictions are also players in this current conflict, Italy, France, etc. With the opposition being publicly stated from Russia, China and Africa, we can only surmise that, if this conflict drags out, as things in the Middle East tend to do, when the US is involved especially,  then a possibility of this becoming something more is not completely out of the question. Our fear is that this world and its population are in enough trouble and we do not need to blindly let this escalate.

We believe helping the people is the right thing to do, but we're also aware that we must keep our eyes open and make sure this isn't, or doesn't become about oil and more of the corporations oil wars. Why is it that we jump right in when it's Libya, one of the worlds biggest oil producers, but Egypt was left to fend for themselves. We know Egypt can't quite be compared to Libya because Mubarak was not out right attacking his people in the same way, and that makes sense. It would be nice to believe that this is all about, the right thing to do by our government, but lately, that's getting harder and harder to believe.

So, could the attacks on Libya lead to a bigger conflict (WWIII)? The answer is yes. The truth, again, is that any conflict could eventually lead to a potential WWIII. It is necessary to pay attention and not let things get out of control or become personal. There's nothing wrong with walking away from a conflict when it no longer is in your, or anyones best interest to be there. We cannot ignore the predictions from the past that possibly give us keys to identify when something is or maybe coming. If we pay attention and use our heads instead of worrying about more profits and control, we may just be humane enough to avoid it.

Starting the discussion about: "Some changes we can make."

It seems that maybe we should have a set amount of money that is divided up equally between the parties that they can use for their campaigning.

TV time could be donated by major networks to have a certain number of debates between candidates during each campaign season.

Local tv and news networks could do the same thing for more local elections in order for senate and congressional candidates to have an equal amount of time, or televised town hall meeting debates, so that people can make an informed decision instead of just voting for who paid for the most tv commercials and advertising without even telling us what they really stand for on the issues.


We don't pretend to have all the answers, but we do want to start having some discussions and spreading awareness. Help us in the comments. Any ideas?

By the way, Pipe bands are a tradition of fire departments. Fire departments were originally formed about the time the people from Ireland were arriving in the US. These potato famine refuges were only able to obtain the dirtiest and most dangerous jobs. When a fire fighter died, he was "piped home" by his fellow fire fighters.

Although police and firefighters were exempt from the governor’s attempt to strip public employees of collective bargaining rights, the police and fire fighters have stood with their fellow union colleagues all the way. I encourage everyone to help the people of Wisconsin any way you can.

Governor Walker’s bill included gifts to his major campaign contributors, the Koch brothers, with a provision that would allow the governor to sell off state-owned power plants in no-bid sales to whom ever the governor chose. This ‘budget repair’ bill would also give sole control over many educational and social support programs to the governor. It would privatize the University of Wisconsin, one of the premier public universities in the country. The list of give-aways in the bill increases as more people manage to actually read the entire thing. 

The only reason the bill passed the Wisconsin state house of Representatives was because the the Republicans prematurely, and illegally, stopped debate at 1 am when many of the democrats were not present. Voting was only open for 10 seconds. Republicans were seen to not only be pushing their own vote buttons but the vote buttons of others who were not present at the time. The only reason that Walker was not able to ram this bill through the Senate, is that 15 Wisconsin Democratic senators left the state. This allowed time for information about what was really in the 14 page budget repair bill to become more widely known.

As of today, the 14 senators are being fined $100 per day for each day they do not return. However, the longer they can stay gone, it is likely that Republicans will stop supporting the bill. Already one Republican, I think it’s Senator Schultz, has broken rank. For Republicans, that’s a big thing.

Also, Walker is keeping people out of the state capitol even though the capitol police have publically stated that the people are breaking no laws. The Wisconsin state constitution explicitly states that the capitol must be open at all times to the people who own the capitol—the citizens. A judge ruled Monday that Walker was violating the state constitution by keeping people out when the people were being orderly, not interfering with state business and not breaking any laws.

Walker twice tried to have the people in the state house arrested--on Friday, 2/25. When it became public that Walker was behind this move (he initially blamed it on the police who then denied that they were planning to arrest anyone because no one was breaking any laws). Anyway, after it became clear that he would try to have people arrested on Friday afternoon, off-duty police and fire fighters joined the protesters and told the governor that he would have to arrest them as well.

On Sunday, he tried to have the protesters removed again. At this point, no one, even a bunch of fire fighters in full gear, was allowed into the capitol building. The Capitol Police--the police just for the state capitol building and grounds--refused to obey his order!

Could America withstand its own Fukushima, Japan Disaster?

While the Japan disaster is no doubt one of the most troubling occurrences of our lifetime, just behind Chernobyl, it has raised questions here in the United States of our own nuclear energy sites and if we could with stand a similar disaster.

The truth is this, we know that there is really no way of getting around nuclear energy, if we want to sustain our current living habits and needs, until something else gets perfected enough to be able to use. The only problem with that is we continue to see our government sit back and watch as the amount of people with cancer in this country grow because our government refuses to push back at corporations and start to actually regulate them and enforce the regulations.

Corporations continue to dump waste into our water supply because paying the fines, once they finally get caught, of breaking this law is cheaper than actually keeping up with regulations. The BP oil rig disaster last year proved that the companies are not afraid of our government. They were told to stop spraying the chemical used to HIDE the oil, by breaking it up into smaller pieces so that it could not be seen in the water as it sank to the bottom or floated around just under the surface, but continued to spray because it was easier than cleaning it up. Out of site, out of mind. Now that it's not rushing up onto the shore in droves anymore, people don't even talk about it. IT'S NOT CLEANED UP YET. They hid it and walked away. The natural gas companies are using fracking to drill for natural gas under the ground. Doesn't sound so bad just yet, but when you realize that fracking is a bunch of cancer causing chemicals that poison the land, your livestock (food), and water supplies, as shown in the documentary GasLand, you realize that your water could eventually become flammable and most certainly make you sick or even kill you. The government (under Bush jr) opened up the availability for these companies to be able to inject anything the wanted underneath the ground. The closer they get to the watersheds that supply our daily needs, the more screwed we'll be. Best case scenario, it eventually costs you thousands of dollars and much pain.

What does all this have to do with the Fukushima, Japan disaster you're probably asking. Well, we have bridges collapsing in Minnesota, levees in Louisiana failing, and our entire infrastructure rotting away piece by piece. If we can't rely on our government to spend some money to build our country back up, in it's greatest time of need, because the corporations need more tax breaks to "create jobs". That worked, oh so well, over the last decade of Bush tax cuts. If they can't protect us from polluting and poisoning of our land and people by corporations, because either they are or will be the CEO of "that company" or because they are being bought off by the company, in order to be able to maximize their profits, by just letting "a few little things" go. Then how the heck can we have any faith in the fact that our existing facilities would be able to hold up to any sort of disaster, such as that in Fukushima? How can we feel comfortable moving forward with any future plans of nuclear energy with a government that has proven again and again that they don't give a shit about the people, so long as it makes the gov't officials a few bucks for retirement or opens up a future job prospect after they get elected out for some other idiot.

Don't get us wrong, we are not against nuclear energy of even utilizing it even more in the future. We prefer to spend money on R & D for solar, bio-fuel (such as hemp, easily renewable), wind or anything else that can help reduce our dependence on non-renewable, foreign or dangerous alternatives as well as continue with what we have. There's no way anyone can say we could continue on as normal without continuing to need oil, natural gas and other current systems. We can, however, try to move away from them as quickly as possible. We are against trusting that our government can regulate anybody that makes over 250,000 dollars a year though. That is what makes us afraid to have confidence in the fact that we could handle a disaster such as that seen in Fukushima, Japan.

Could we handle a disaster similar to that of the one in Japan? They will tell us it's alright, and everything will be fine, because they believe we are like children who can't handle the truth. The truth is, many of us probably can't, but that's another story. Our answer to the question: not under the current system of government. Please help us change that.

A Note to Republicans: You can't have it both ways.

You can't have it both ways. You say you don't want to have a "big government" that helps people out when they need it. You don't want to have to "pay" to support someone when they're older. You say "unemployment and welfare just makes people lazy.." and that we shouldn't have to help those people out. You charge an arm and a leg for a college education and then don't want to be told you have to pay a certain amount so these college graduates, like myself, can live and support families within reason. You say the government shouldn't be there to tell people what to do or how to live, yet the first thing you do is try to control us and make it harder for each individual to exercise our rights.

To begin with, the government was set up in order to help unionize and protect the people and the states of this country, not the businesses. It's the governments job to make sure people are not being poisoned by the business that "moved in" next-door. It's the governments job to make sure that our land is not rendered unlivable for man nor beast because some people or businesses want to dump their waste into the nearest river or hole. It's the governments job to protect THE PEOPLE from all dangers, foreign and domestic, not businesses and their monetary interests. Businesses need to be regulated to stop them from pumping poisons into the ground to help drill (fracking), to stop the pumping of waste into the oceans, rivers and lands, to stop the spraying of deadly chemicals just so they can HIDE, not clean, spilled oil and corporate mistakes.

In case you didn't know unemployment is an insurance and not something you just give me, but god forbid your insurance company has to pay out to an actual claim after you destroy our economy. Republicans claim they're Christians, yet they do everything in their power not to have to help someone else. Welfare is a help that is sometimes needed and we hope some day you have to find out what that's like, no one wants to be on it. Education used to be something people wanted for everyone, so that we could become the greatest country on this planet, now it's another for profit company to pad your pockets instead of an interest for the country and the people. This country became the greatest because the people worked together and helped each other out when it was needed. They banned together and "circled the wagons" in order to survive and progress. Sounds kinda like socialism to me, ouch.

I personally, would love nothing more than to be able to grab a gun and head off into the woods to get started in my new life, where I could "take care of myself". I would need no money, ask for no help from you in getting my own food, living off the land and supporting my family, much like the Native American Indians once did. Sadly, you make it impossible for me to do even that. You tell me don't expect help and "get a job" but then won't hire me because I didn't live the perfect childhood or have the right family, or skin color. If I try to disappear and head off to live my life, on my own with no help from you, you tell me "you can't do that." You will have me arrested because I cannot build my home on public land, I cannot live and trespass on someone else's land, and you tell me "not there... you don't own that land".

You can't have it both ways. You must either let us pursue our own lives and try to survive on our own, or if you force us to live in your society, you must be willing to help when times get tough. Sorry it's not more simple than that, but that is just how it is. You can't have it both ways.
